Stock Air Filter Dirty or Not

Can you tell if the stock air filter is dirty just by looking at the outside? I assume dirt shouldn't get on the inside, so there is no need to pull it off the duct to try to peer inside?

yea, pull it out of the box and look at it.. u should be able to tell if its dirty.. if it looks way dirty to u just go buy a K&N filter replacement
