Default JIC FLT-A1 Coilovers *VS* Tein SS Coilovers

hi, was wonderin if anybody have been in or have used the JIC a1 coilovers since theres a sale in the wheels/suspension forum https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=918639. im curious because jic products are pretty pricey but the one shown is only 845 shipped and i recieved a quote one tein ss for the same price pretty much. so my question is, which is the best. i heard many many praises on the tein ss. the A1s are only 5adjustable dampening, and the teins is 16. any comments help, i'd appreciate it. thanks.

I've never experienced JICs in an Integra but from comparing the two...

JIC A1 --fixed dampening, pillowball uppermount.
SS -- 16 level-dampening, pillowball optional.

I have the Tein HAs...which is pretty much the SS but in better form (discontinued BTW).

I would pick the SS's since they have stiffer springs and you can still adjust the dampenings.

I wouldn't get either. The rates are really soft on both.

I would read a post in the Type R forum before purchasing the JIC's. Many type R owners had major customer service problems with their coilovers.
Just a heads up

The lower end models have no rust protection, I believe. But the upper end models do.

I have JIC FLT-A2s, and I love em! They ride supper nice even with the stiffer spring rate I have.

You could always put something on the Teins yourself to protect them from rust.

Does the color of the shocks even matter?

And as far as rust...the preventive measures are to spray the rust-prone area (which is located at the top perch where you adjust the dampening) with some WD-40 or if you want some anti-rust coating you can get at any auto store.

Pillowball mounts aren't nearly as necessary. If you know you'll be tearing your car through autoX or road racing then I would recommend it.

If you are just mainly going to use it for daily driving then the SS is for you.

Trust me... The spring rates are not bad. The dampening makes up for it .

I've set mine on the highest and tore it up on the street. It literally felt like I was on rails...or it could just be me.
