Default AEM V2 cold air intake

Any positive comments toward this intake system? I know that its pricey, but do the gains and sound reflect the cost?

IMHO the v2 intake isnt worth the money...id feel bad paying the amount AEM wants for a regular coldair intake...id just buy an ebay tube and a k&n filter

the v2 is the best cold air that i've seen, but also the most expensive.
i guess you get what you pay for, if you have the best, chances are you paid the most.

quality comes with time spent on researching on a product.
aem v2 is a step a notch from the old.

i just use stock.

Note that there aren't a lot of people making insane power with the V2. There are reasons for that.

I still like the ICEMAN the best.

Tapered design increases the speed of air coming in and the fact that you can make it a short ram in a split second makes it valuable to me here in FL where it floods in the blink of an eye.

AEM

Really what it comes down to is that no intake in any shape or form is worth the price AEM sells them for. Think about it? You are gaining such a small amount for quite a bit of money. A cheap CAI or short ram with a good filter will do just the same for a 1/4 of the price. Your paying for the name.

i agree, you can get slightly "less" performance out of a v1 and for 1/2 the price.

this is true! the best intake on the market right now is J's Racing short ram. According to most dyno's. This is proven and it's also the only intake AEM will not compare their intakes against....wonder why

EDIT: i'm not just blowing out dust either i own an aem v1 and i'd gladly trade for a j's racing plus a little money

overall opinion of aem v2.... for performance/value

OEM Airbox
K&N Drop-In Filter
eBay Short-Ram pipe mated to airbox
Removed Resonator

Total = $70 that probably yields more power than a $300 AEM.
