Default SORRY CLOSED

I found another RSX type s for a very cheap price.... the thing is it has a salvage title due to some accident.. 37k miles.. supposedly the guy bought it from an auction, and replaced a hood, left light, fender, and the rims and the door (which supposedly had minor dings on it).. he says there is no engine damage/ frame or anything other than exterior parts... well my questions are how can I check if there isnt' anything wrong with the motor/frame... should I trust him?/ will carfax review anything useful?? also when I go take a look at the car what should I look for?? thx..

buying a salvaged car isnt always bad. sometimes they are just theft recoveries...

If you plan on reselling down the line, its always difficult to resell it because then you have to explain the salvage title, how it was damaged, etc. I would take it to a body shop and have them check it out before any further purchasing on your part. Saving money now is great, but you may lose it whenever you try to resell and no one wants the car for the fear that it is substantionally damaged. A salvage title already looks horrible to a potential buyer that may not know the ropes.

if there was frame damage, you won't know unless you examine it. if it was misshifted and blown engine and he replaced internals, you'll prob never know until you pull it apart.

what he says doesn't necessarily mean what happened. do u think it's worth it to buy a car for X dollars that you might have to spend Y more money to fix?
