If you don't have a manual for that HU, get one,you will need it, I'm not sure but I think that model alpine has low,mid and high adjustments ,hold down menu button for a few sec. [do not just push and let go, that is setup menu] and the 1st thing that comes up is the eq low use << >> to adjust and source and band to change, push and let go menu and you move to time correction, first one is bass focus then the speakers and subs, and so on and so on and so on get a manual

hope this helps. 94

go to http://www.aline-usa.com and click on TECH CENTER. Then click on Consumer Site and go look for Owners Manuals. Then find the model of your deck and click on the PDF file. Then look it up.

This is why people without frequency experience should not buy an alpine. It's not a fricken JVC where you can just hit one button and change the levels. You can either hold the button next to MX or use the EQ. Eq will also be in hz. Same thing with x-over f/l/r/h.

Time to learn my young apprentice. There are thousands of write ups on the internet on how to properly tune an alpine. Best way is to judge by your ears.

Yeah, and i install 5 or 6 a day at my job, and if they have a problem with their settings they can come back to me so i can tune it to their liking. We tune all of our decks before they leave our shop. To me, a question like what is 8hz, like how do you format a disk?

Bass engine pro is better. Here is why:

Digital Time Correction

Because the speakers are located at different distances from you, the sound image is not focused at the ideal front and centre position. Digital Time Correction creates "virtual" speaker positions so all sounds reach your ears at the same time for optimum imaging. And it's all done automatically!

24dB Digital Crossover

Maximises the efficiency of each speaker by delivering only those frequencies which the speaker was designed to handle, and eliminating those it cannot. This restores amplifier power, increases output, and improves signal clarity.

And the plus has:

Bass Forward

Outputs some of the bass from the front speakers for instant front staging and bass presence at the touch of a button! Three modes can be selected.

3-Position Crossover

You can select the cut offs that best match the characteristics of your speakers. By removing frequencies you can't hear or the speaker can't reproduce, you restore lost power to the amplifier, so it plays louder and cleaner.

So, all in all, Pro is a better choice!
