hey people, I'm buying a C-West Style BOdy Kit From Sense Motorsports for a 4 Door 95 civic. I wanted to know if it would be possible for me to put the kit on my self and i've always read that 2 door and 4 door bumpers are the same and 3 door is not. What's up!

 

2 door and hatches have the same front bumpers. 4 doors have a different front bumper. And you could do the install yourself, its really easy

 

Great, so how do you know you are getting a front bumper and rear bumper for a 4 door? Do you just ask for it? I know it sounds stupid, but there is a bumper made for a 4 door?

 

The place where you are buying it from should say what applications its for. Have you already ordered the kit?

 

is it fiberglass? most fiberglass kits fits like *** and needs work to get them to fit nice if you dont have any experience with it i would have a professional do it. last thing you want is to damage it

 

yeah but why put a body kit on a 4 door to begin with? Well i guess jus to make it LOOK fast since it can never BE fast

 

it's easy to tell the difference on stock bumpers, hatches and coupes have a seperate little part on each side of the front bumper where you can put fogs the four doors do not. The "grill" part of the bumper just spans across the whole thing...

my fault, i should rephrase that....

if the first thing your doing is puttin a body kit on it, i highly doubt it will ever be fast....

yeah that sounds more like it. But hey it's his car so as long as he likes what he's doing then for him.

Il back this up.. I just recently Did a fiberglass Body fitting on my friends car.. and it didnt want to fit right at all and we cracked it in a cupple of places and some of the parts stil sag... So if you havent worked with fiberglass get it done professional.. Might cost some cash but much worth it.

Does anybody know a ball park figer for a body shop to put on a kit for you?

 

Not including painting, I think my local shop charges around $120-180. They say it'll take about 3 hours, but depending on the brand and fitment, it's usually just as simple as undoing some clips and bolts and swapping bumpers. That's how it was with my old Tsunami kit. Great fitment, so everything fit like stock. The only hard part would be doing the drilling to mount the sideskirts. But as others have said, if the kit fits like *** it's going to be time consuming modifying everything to fit well.

Well, there are polyurethane kits, carbon fiber kits ($$$), and ABS plastic kits (like the bodykits from ABS Dynamics Corp.). From my experience, the polyurethane kits fit pretty decently and are strong. My T2000 kit was complete polyurethane, and that **** took a BEATING. I ran it against parking blocks, curbs, etc. Hell, when my N1 muffler was torn off, it actually ripped off the rear bumper insert along with it. That alone should've fucked up the rear bumper, but the only damage I received was a slightly dented chassis mount and badly fucked up paint.

 

Isn't there a poly-fiber too? Where it's something like fiberglass and polyurethane (sp) molded togehter? I heard something like that before.

And while we're on the subject, I also heard that polyurethane (sp) kits can warp if they are out in the sun or high heat for a while?

 

stay oem and get nice lips for it don't go with a body kit..fitments suck(especially fiberglass)makes car sit too low(get polyeurethane)for you're front end because you're bound to hit something trust me..im tryin to sell my full budy club kti in polyeurethane 96-98 civic coupe...it was the worst mistake i ever did..even thought the kit fit really nice and had no problems..it added alot of weight as well..wont help with track numbers

 

ok your a funny guy just to inform you a 4 door can be fast no matter what car it is. So I guess your just a person that hates on people that dont buy 2 doors or 3 doors. My friend will put his 4 door civic versus your POS any day.
