Like it says - What's going on?

Some getting ready to travel east?

There's a race this weekend at Willow Springs.

Scott, who at the very least would like to hear about the latest bling....

* BTW - this is serious: Anybody got any pictures of the underside of the front of Tom Leppers Fosstech ITR? I've looked at it but never got any pics. I'd like to see how they did the front sway bar mounting.

Hmmm...so it sounds like it may be Top Secret.

That means that Big News will come later - right?

Scott, who really wants to drive Willow Springs someday...in a well sorted car though for sure...

I have a hard time keeping my driver, crew chief, and publicist on the same page.

Scott, who used to want to be bad ***....but I was just bad...now sometimes I'm just an ***

do some of you guys ever just say, "fugg it, car ain't 100% but i don't care! i'm going driving!"??? building motors and such is great fun, but not nearly as much fun as actually driving the car. maybe the money involved (compared to a national level autocross or prosolo) is large enough that it's worth it to sit out an event waiting for your pimpy final drive to show up, or those new 14:1 pistons, or the pimpy stop-tech brakes? my motto, car runs, will race. but what do i know?

I'm anxiously awaiting the Cal Club Pacific Nights 6-Hour Enduro in a couple of weeks - always a fun event. From what I'm told, the car is basically ready to go.

Nate,

Sure. But you can push awfully hard and long to try to put the car you want to drive on the track. It's easy to underestimate the psychological power of achieving your preparation goals - regardless of the less than perfect correlation to results. You can't count on miracles and genius every time out you know.

Scott, who has watched events go by too many times over the years as the equipments slowly converges on perfection...I used to take so much **** - I mean, how hard can it be to get a bicycle up and running? But there you have it, and there it is....

Hello Scott,
I don't believe much in front sway bars. I just have a light duty bar, Suspension Techniques, I think with poly bushings.

Now rear bars is where I get creative. But I sure should have loosened it for the wet start of the USTCC race

Tom, Who laughs at and thinks about your posts, Keep it up

I think I'd be more impressed to see "fugg it, car ain't 100%, I can't trust it, I'm staying home." Instantly all the stress goes away... replaced by depression perhaps but better safe then sorry.

Kurt, who has an 8-year excuse of a car project he keeps clinging as an excuse why he can't go racing yet.

kb58, a lot of the stuff i see posted about isn't a safety item sort of thing. sure, if your wheelbearings are questionable, your brakes couldn't stop a tri-cycle, or the motor is going to throw a rod at any moment i'd definitely favor staying home. if you're waiting for that pimpy set of pedal covers or a 4.9FD on the other hand...

now that i opened my big mouth...

i'll be sitting out a few autocrosses over the next month. sent my front shocks in to koni to have them dyno-ed. some weirdness in the car and a noticeable difference in force generated by each shock has forced me to seek imperical evidence. with any luck there is something wrong and i can justify having them fixed. if not, i'll be requesting a different valving for them, and with the amount of business koni does this time of year i'll likely not see them until after nationals. we'll see what happens.

nate - new member of the "look at racecar in garage on jackstands" club... except i have no garage, and my racecar is a daily driver...
