Fuel question for a Del Sol

Whenever I put the gear in neutral, does the engine continue to inject fuel and use up gas? Just wanted to clear that up since I think some engines does and others doesn't.

I got a 93 Del Sol S by the way.

Well yeah, as soon as you start the car its injecting gas. Thats how it runs. It just lowers the RPMs so it shouldn't use as much gas, but every car is always burning gas as long as its on.
