cable to hydro?
i need some help converting my 90 crx si to run a hydro tranny. Whenever i ask this question people just tell me to get a jdm s1 tranny. First off i dont want to hassle with trying to find a decent one for a decent price, second i already have a hydro tranny that is in pristine condition. i know it can be done iv seen it done. I just need some expert advice as to what parts to get and a little instalation advice. thanx in advance for any info you guys can give me.
I think Place Racing makes what you're looking for-hydro tranny in a cable chassis and HASport makes one to do a cable tranny in a hydro chassis.Last time I saw one I think it was about $225,retail.Check w/Place.Hope this helps.P.S.-I know what u mean about finding a decent cable tranny at a decent price!
I don't think it is the cable to hydro deal, because like the other post says, someone has a conversion kit that will make cable to hydro work. The problem with the newer d series tranny into an older cable vehicle is the mounts. The 3 tranny mounts are in different places, so you would need a mount kit. I am not sure if there is one out there, but if there is, I would like to use the d16y8 tranny in my 91 crx when i do the y8 engine swap. I would like to hear about any info you find out.

On a side note, i just checked place racings website and they didnt make mention of the tranny conversion. I am assuming that they could provide info via email if there is one.
