Default keeping drums instead of going to disks good idea or not...

Ok I searched through 4 pages of archives and only came up with one post from travis regarding rear drums. All of the posts follow the same theme of replacing the drums with a rear disk setup.
I have a 98 hatch with 99si fronts and the stock rear drums that my car came with. I've got the cobalt friction gtsports in the front and stock shoes in the back.. I haven't gotten a chance to go and push the car hard since I upgraded the fronts. I read a bunch of posts that indicated I will be upsetting the brake bias by going to the larger fronts and not changing the rears or getting an adjustable prop valve. How much of this is true? I've been driving the car to work everyday and haven't noticed a huge difference yet but like I said I haven't pushed the car at all. I am not road racing only short autox courses most under 50 seconds with 3 runs being the norm.... Any and all info and opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

thanks RJ I read that post and it seemed to be more is the weight penalty worth the difference. I saw your post that said rear drums are fine for autox also....

from what i have gathered for a stock car a well maintained stock braking system with high performance pads is enough to stop the car. one thing you should look for is new pads for the rear drums.

Read this grm article it is very helpful: http://www.grmotorsports.com/brakes.html
