Rack & Pinion needs replacing on New 2004 Accord?
I recently bought a new 2004 Accord EX V6 Sedan. I've been loving this car since I bought it, and put around 1800 miles on it. I noticed there was oil leaking from it...I tried to see where it was coming from but it didn't appear to be coming from the drain plug or filter.
So I took it to the dealer, and they said its the rack & pinion steering. They're replacing it under warranty. I left it on thursday, it might be done tomorrow. In the meantime I'm driving a Ford taurus rental. ugh.
I'm worried about this car...I mean why would the rack & pinion go bad so soon? Should I be worried about other things going bad? I used to have a Honda Civic EX coupe and nothing went wrong on that for over 100k miles...only the radiator had a crack but that was a simple repair job. So I'm not used to something going wrong on a Honda at only 1800 miles.

Could be just faulty parts...it happens all the time. Normally hondas last for a long time
and I wouldn't worry about this one.
