crx and da exhaust?
no, they are not the same. I put a stock DA rear section onto my gf's crx and it definitely wasn't bolt on.
There are a couple different version of DA exhausts, so not all the axle back parts are the same length and flanges are different. I still haven't figured out exactly which years/models are different and the same.
My gf's car is an 88 crx, and the exhaust I used was from a 91 GS (all 90-91 2dr exhausts should be the same, the only difference in rear section i've seen has been w/ 92-93's). The flange bolted right up to the stock b-pipe on the crx, so that was easy. The mods I had to do to make it fit right were:
1) Weld on a hanger right after the flange. I forget if I used the stock integra hanger and just moved it, or if I used the crx hanger and put it onto the integra piping.
2) There was a hanger on the integra exhaust after the muffler and before the tips. This hanger was in the wrong place plus the hanger on the body of the crx had been removed by a previous owner when he put on a canister muffler. I took a piece of metal hanger from a spare exhaust and welded it up to the tow hook on the crx. This was the the right place so it would match up w/ the hanger on the integra exhaust.
3) Now the exhaust was in place, but the tip stuck out about 8-10" too far. So, the piping after the muffler had to be shortened to fit properly. I cut out a section, then welded it back together.
I believe that on ED hatchbacks step #3 may not be needed (or may not need to be shortened as much), but I cannot confirm this for sure.
