Default *UPDATE*Help! bad problem with steering, vibration. car basically doesnt go straight. Problem Fixed!

hey guys, I recently swapped a b16 motor with lsd into my 93 vx hatch.
The problem is that after a certain amount of driving (like 15 minutes) the steering wheel begins to give slight jerks to the right each second.
Now, this also only happens when i leave the car in neutral and coast or when I let off the gas in any gear at speeds 20 mph and up. Then suddenly when I step on the gas the car begins to go straight again.
But the more you drive the car the worse the jerking becomes. It would sometime throw the car from left to right.

Now at 60 mph and up the car has a hard vibration and pulls to the right, also only when I let off on the gas pedal or in neutral. Then when I get back the gas pedal its ok again.

And if I decide I want to try and drive it more the car begins to do the same jerking even when on the gas pedal.

I have searched for the answer but have found no luck.

I have brought it to 3 different shops, one tells me it is the brakes and that they are warped so I get that, another tells me that it was the torque mounts so I put those on and that wasn't it, and the last guy tells me that it is my motor mounts he says that the stock civic ones can't handle the power but the ones i am using are the b16 ones.
I have also replaced the drivers side axle and intermediate shaft.

Please help me out here guys, I am really confused and so far no one has been able to help me out. I havent driven my car in 3 months due to this problem.
Also sorry for the long post but I wanted to get into detail.
thanks to anyone that helps me out.

I would check your passenger axle. Also i would jack the front end of the car up with it in gear and spin the drivers side wheel and see/feel if it has any sudden jerks, then do the same with the passenger side

it sounds like either a bad differential, bad passenger side hub bearing or a bad passenger axle

This may sound stupid...but what bout a wheel/tire alignment?? Mine pulled hard to the right when braking and vibrated a little bit up top and ended up just bein a minor alignment problem...

What puzzles me about your problem is that you state:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bluehatchy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The problem is that after a certain amount of driving (like 15 minutes) the steering wheel begins to give slight jerks to the right each second. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Why would your car handle ok, then after 15 minutes it would start acting all mental? Any noise associated with this?

As for alignments, was your car aligned properly before the swap? How is your tire tread wear, uneven?????

How old is your car? Has it ever been in an accident?

Has the complete front been examined for slack?

There are no noises when the problem comes up.
before the swap none of this had happened.
The tires have about 80% of tread left on them and they look to have the same wear on them. I also had the problem when i put on my 13 inch vx wheels.
car is a 93 and has never been in an accident.
And the cars front end hasnt been examined for slack.
thanks for the help and suggestion guys.

That is going to be a difficult one to diagnose. Since it started only after you did the swap, at first glance i would say it has something to do with the swap. Now what's wrong???? Can't say, i would have to see the car... sorry..

Hey, wait a minute. What do you mean by:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bluehatchy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I also had the problem when i put on my 13 inch vx wheels.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Another question, when you did your swap, did you touch any frontend components by any chance?

the A arm and both of the front hubs came off.

At first I thought it had to do with unbalanced tires so i put the 13 inch vx rims back on and the same thing happened.

I find it really weird that it only happens when I am decelerating and when I step on the gas again it goes away.
thanks again guys.

Usually, when a problem like this happens right after an install is that you need to retrace your steps. Go back to the last thing you did and recheck. So what i would do at this point would be to remove and reinstall the front end components you took off.

I can't really say from here. Can't see or drive your car,....

i had this problem before on my ef hatch. car shook like a ***** n it would want to pull left. i checked the axles n one of them was on its last bearing. i changed the axle n it felt much better but still was not driving straight. i had an alignment done n the car was perfectly fine. so check ur axles n get n alignment.

well, it turned out that the bolt on the ball joint were on tight.
So basically even though I wish that was the problem it wasn't.
if anyone has anymore suggestions dont hesitate to say anything.

I will have a picture up in a second that could explaing a whole lot to you

if you are decelerating and a tooth on the spider gear assembly slips it will cause a sudden jerk to the side that still has gear contact

I will show you what can happen/what happens frequently

the circled areas is where the teeth are either broken in some way or where they are completely gone

this is a result of a really aggressive clutch(six puck unsprung) and a driver that likes to pop the clutch (he drives like a total moron) I just recently sold him my ITR LSD and installed it for him because of his horrible driving.

his crappy skills and poor selection of clutches cost him 600 dollars

I am shure that there are retards like this in japan and not only in the US

This motor also came from hmotorsonline.com
And already I had to replace the distributor, starter, and axle.
Not that I am trying to say anything bad, but yeah.
