I just purchased a '92 Accord EX a few days ago. Automatic (blah ) with the 2.2 litre programmed fuel injection engine under the hood. The car is a bit doggish right now. I was wondering if anybody knows some good ways to boost the HP on this car (excluding exhaust and intake systems) without spending a ton of cash.

Well an intake wouldn't cost that much compared to other things. You could get something from ebay or used.

If you really don't want to spend money you can work on weight reduction and remove/disconnect the power steering and air condition [if applicable]

I don't know how far you want to take it, but in general hp doesn't come cheap.

 

ok, i'll make a correction... the best ways to gain some horsepower disregarding budget. i'm already planning on an intake, headers and a new cat-back exhaust system. just anything else that would help please list. thanks.

 

usually the basic bolt ons strip away a little low end, so be prepared for it...
