Hey i wanted to know if i should buy a whole new door or just a door skin. WHich is easier to install? I dont know how to take apart the outter part of the door and was wondering if it is involved or simple to do. Once the outter shell is off how do you fasten the new skin to the inner door? is it simple bolt on or riveting? Anyone hat has knowledge of this procedure please let me know thanx

it would seem easier to replace the whole door

 

you have to grind or cut the edge of the door skin (it is folded around the door frame), then peal it off, then put the new one on, fold it over and glue or weld it in place.

 

Thanx, i think i'll save myself the agrivation and just buy a door from the junk yard. I don't have time to play around to make a skin fit right or figure out how exactly to do it.

 

I'm wondering if any HT'ers have went the skind replacement route?

If you paid a shop:

How much did it cost you?
How is it holding up?
Does it look OEM as far as lining up properly?

If you did it yourself:

How long did it take?
Was it very difficult?
Any tips?
Would you do it again?

I know you can go to a junk yard and get a new door, but my goal is to have NO dings on the exterior

 

if you need a door i have two red doors from a hacthback 92-95 without molding.
