My passenger side axle won't go in all the way...
it goes up to where the ring is...do you guy just use a hammer and slam that bisch in ? is there any safe way to do it? any trick?
Here's how my dad helped me do it. I didn't like the idea of pressing on the joints, but it popped right in and has been fine. Get under the car and start pressing the axle in while someone else holds the end of the axle and pressed in with a hammer handle or something of that sort. Went in in about 2 seconds where it takes me close to 5 minutes of hard pushing to get them in by myself.
EDIT: Do you have the splines lined up?

put your car in neutral and see if when u spin the axle if u can feel it catch in the diff. if so then holding it in place have a friend push the outside of the axle in the hub assembly till the cv joints are all compact then lightly tap it in with a hammer. had to do this with a friends hatch about a week ago. did nothing to the integraty of the axle. just enough pop to get it in their. but don't go pounding it in like a big *** nail. just tap it right in with precise hits. and make sure the joints are pushed together first otherwise it won;t actually push the axle in.
what also works well is if you get the ring centered on the axle, and then grease up the end of the axle just enough to keep the ring in place, from their line it up and it will pop into place fairly easily.

The biggest problem people have with not being able to put an axle in is because the axle is not parallel to the motor. IF the axle is at an angle at all when it is going into the splines it will not go in. The best thing to do is jack up the entire rotor assy until it is parallel with the axle hole in the tranny, once it is level it will pop in by itself, no force.
