Buying tomorrow
First off:
If you have a question please ask it in detail. (not: buying car will this air filter work?)
Secondly:
Why would you want to buy that from the dealer, buy it at some place like soundtrack and get more product for your money.

OK, let me rephrase I'm new to this.
I'm going to the dealer to buy the Accord EX tomorrow. I realy want the nav but I'd rather buy it myself and install it to save a few bucks. Does any 3rd party vendor sell the nav system or do I have to buy it stricly from the dealer? If I have to get the EX with nav I will but I just want to save cash. Sorry for the confusion.

How much experience do you have installing 12-volt products? If I were you, I would go to a radio shop and get an aftermarket navigation/DVD system. If you don’t have a lot of experiences installing these types of system let the radio shop install it. That way if something were to go wrong they will be responsible.
Aftermarket meaning non-honda? I plan on buying the mp3 player add-on separate and it comes with installation instuctions. I've put in decks before and things ike that. If you mean a third party nav system, do you have an example of one so i can compare. Thank you so much!!!!!!

As for as the OEM system goes, anything is possible with enough time and money, but practically speaking NO.
But as said before you CAN go aftermarket which may give you more bang for your buck but won't be OEM.
Depends on what you want.

from what i hear, though, the newer honda oem navigation systems are pretty damn nice and are equal or better to top end luxury car navigation systems...just my .02
as far as all the reading ive done, the newer accords with navigation are excellent, and are so many notches about some of the best aftermarket systems, i would suggest you get the Honda one just for fit and finish reasons, and because its made for the car, its a cool system and is a Honda piece...you cant really go wrong, especially if your planning on getting it anyway...and like mister man said, get the Honda Mp3 player and your on your way...

Ditto!
If you go aftermarket, you are more than likely going to have to do "adjust" some portion of the super nice Honda interior to make it work. I would get the navigation system for a couple more reasons as well:
You will be financing it with your car (much better rates than credit cards)
If you have any problems, it will be covered by the factory warranty. I have an awesome car audio hookup and I would still get the factory nav over the great deal I could get from my buddy.

a friend of mine got the G35 infiniti and didnt buy the navigation when he got it even though he financed it, now he feels like a **** because he wants to go aftermarket but didnt want to ruin his dash or anything like that, so i truly suggest go with the one they engineer for that car, you wont regret it...
P.S - the guy used to be my friend, he is now going to jail for trying to nail a 15yr old (good riddance).
