Default AEM Bypass valve

i have a 2003 honda civic coupe EX and i just bought an AEM Bypass valve for my AEM cold air intake system. I just wanted to know if you have to cut the inlet pipe for all models. My intake came in 2 pieces. i just wanna make sure. I dont care about loss of power and that other side stuff. I just wanna know if i definitly have to cut the inlet pipe. Thanks.

There should be instructions with an actual cut sheet and you just wrap it around the pipe, saw it in both places. I bought one a few weeks ago and cringed at the idea of cutting it.
