alright, doing some research for my brother....looking for some opinions....
ok my brother is going to inherit a 1995 Accord EX wagon....car has about 110k on the clock....
....now onto his "plans" he is ALL about this car and whats it more than anything and really wants to put some money into this thing....the 5spd swap is a lock...but as far as the motor goes, its still somewhat up in the air....he currently would like to run a turbo H22 in it....now i think it would be interesting....but i also know the F22's seem to like their boost....
so basically im looking for some input on motor combos that you guys think would work out nicely, and maybe be somewhat unique....

if you are going FI keep the f22 cause they hold boost very well with stock internals as the h22 would need a good deal of strengthening of the internals to go with a turbo and at that point you have spent an assload of money
i would agree with you there, i was simply stating that a boosted h wagon would be hella expensive
boosted F > H
but there will be more downtime, and in gneral, you loose some reliability when you turbo a non-turbo motor. bascially, you have to weigh the choices. personaly, i wouldnt even THINK about turboing an H, just too much hassle for me:
H swap - simple(r), straighforward, reliable, DOHC Vtec, more power then NA F, but still lacks torque.
Turbo F - more complicated, longer down time, less reliable, lots-o-power, lots-o-torque
in the long run, but will probably cost the same (assuming a shop does the work)

nah, this will be done in the garage...while I am a Mustang guy ive worked on more Honda's than Mustangs....been involved with a few motor swaps in civics, and 5spd swaps and my buddy that would be helping me has done a ton of swaps(motor and auto-5 speed)...and built the turbo kit that he had on his old DA Integra....and we have a friend who is quite handy when it comes to welding so everything SHOULD be able to be handled in house....my brother has no mechanical skills but hopefully he could help us out on this project when the time comes to get his feet wet...niether of us have done a swap in an Accord before but im confident it shouldnt be too dificult....so anyways that should save plenty of money on the labor....
...i think the H with a manual tranny would be pretty sick in the wagon and id like to see him do an H swap but he really does want turbo...so i guess its gonna come down to what HE wants to do with HIS money but thanks A LOT for the input guys!
