Default picked up my new EF....check it out (your cool 56k)

Well here is my second ef i just picked up. the damage really isn't that bad considering i have experience in collision repair it won't be a problem to replace the damaged parts. i have a crx project ive been working on and i purchased the japan front end for it so i have a set of spare headlights from the 88' crx and also a good hood from it also. i was wondering if you guys think the headlights and hood would fit this 89 civic. im also going to pull the dx engine and automatic trans out of it and put my hf crx engine and 5spd trans into it. im building this car strictly for gas mileage efficiency. i figure that all i would really have to get is a set of manual pedals and a clutch cable for the swap becuase i already have the engine and trans like i said. while im repainting some new the new parts im also going to go ahead and paint the front/back bumpers. i have a set of 13" vx wheels im gonna slap on it too. also, what exactly is that filler piece called between the bumper and the hood? any help, comments, or questions that you guys have just spill them. by the way, i picked the car up for $250 and the body is clean besides the damage with no body/chassis rust.

/\ shows why bumper supports are useless in these cars, wrecks aren't usually with the bumper

as far as I know you can put the whole CRX front end on, but it looks like you're gonna need a new radiator support section.

For the manual conversion I'm pretty sure the 88/89 automatics didn't have a predrilled spot on the firewall for the clutch cable, so you'll have to drill that too, pick up a set of manual pedals and then you'll be good to go.

I've got a set of manual pedals if you want them. It's a PITA to pull them. I've also got a complete cruise control system if you're interested. You said you're going for gas mileage, so CC may interest you if you're going to be doing a lot of highway driving.

At least whoever's head didnt hit the windshield (must of had the seatbelt on) and the parking light looks like its in good condition so thats one less thing to replace. Cool project though!

it actually doesn't look that bad considering the majority of the damage is only the hood/headlight which is easily replacable. Good find!
