do I have to replace it?
my idle is messed. It hops from 1 to about 2 every time the clutch is in or its in neutral. Ok, i checked the coolant and the computer, thats cool. So im guessing its the fast idle control valve. However, thats like 80 bucks, so screw that. Is there any way to clean it or anything, Must i get it replaced. All ideas welcome.
if that doesn't work you'll have to replace it.

I had one doing the same thing and it was idled too high.It would only do it in park and if the a/c was off.I idled it down with the idle screw and it fixed the problem.This was on an 87 so I don't know if you have this screw or not.
