Wrinkle finish. You can find it at most automotive stores. It's sold in a regular spray paint can.

Will it stand up to the heat?

Even regular paint will stand up to the heat. Alot of people say it won't, but I've never had a problem with it not lasting, as long as it's prepped correctly.

Exactly.
When I painted mine, I stripped it primed it, and sprayed about 3 coats of my cars factory color, then 2 coats of clear. It held up fine for about 3 years before I changed it.

Just curious; what do some people use to take the paint off the letter part of the aluminum?

If you want to have it done, HT user Akumaracer paints valve covers. He can eliminate the lettering completely, or just certain parts, or just paint the cover itself. PM him.

I e-mailed the guy who owns these pictures. He said he "It's a baked-on finish that's been tested to 350 degrees, and is very resistant to grease, engine cleaner, and severe weather conditions."

So if it does come in a spray can he sticks it in the oven too.

Any one have any idea what this stuff is?
