Need Help - CD PLAYER - CODES???
HI there,
I was wondering if anybody can help me out here.
My batery died out and my CD isn't working anymore...It's asking me for a code.
I called the deaership but they asked me to make an appointment and they said it would cost me about $90 to fix this!!!
I find this ridiculous especially if all I need is a damn code (a code which the dealership did not provide to me when I purchased the car...)
Appreciate any info you have on this....

I've never heard of people having to pay for the code. My buddy bought an Integra that needed a code, he just pulled the numbers off the back of the deck and called a dealership. They gave him the code over the phone.
Maybe the $ is for the tech who has to take out the radio to read the serial on the back? Just get the serial# yourself and see what happens.

Thanks bro,
They didn't tell me that I have to pay for the codes...They just said they have to take the radio out...
So even if I get the serial number from the radio (which by the way I don't know how to do) will the dealership give me the code?
If anybody has any other ideas, let me know.

I think you'll be good to go if you get the #'s off the back yourself. You might have to take the actual radio into a dealership just to prove you're not trying to steal it out of a car, lol.
You might call them back and ask them what the $90 will be paying for. If they say labor, then the $90 is going towards a tech who can take the radio out to look at the #'s, and then put it back in.
What year, trim level is your car?

you just need to unscrew the two screws on the bottom of the dash piece, then take out all of the accessory pieces, and the entire front panel will come out, then taking the radio out should be a breeze...
the serial code is on the underside of the radio when you pull it out. just take the serial code to the dealership, and tell them to look up the code for you, if they need proof, just take the title of the car with you.
