Whats wrong with my charging system/ System?!
i have a 93 civic coupe ex 2 dr with a stinger 4 gauge pro wiring kit, a jbl 1200.1, and a jbl 180.1, pushing some infinits, and the jbl pushin 2 kicker solo's. i also have a mr alternator 130 alt alternator, and the big 3 done, along with bigger grounds on my motor, valve cover and so on. I drilled a hole in the trunk and ground down the metal and put a 10mm bolt and washer on it for the ground, and for the smaller amp i have ot grounded on a support bolt for the back seat. The ground for the small amp is a 8 gauge, and the one for the 1200 is 4 gauge. I have a distibution block and 8 gauge going to the amps. Before my stock alternator hit the ******* i never used to go into low voltage when my bass hit, i know how many volts im running thanks to my radar, it used to not dim that badly and never go into low volts like i said before my alternator went bad, i didnt really change much with the system, and i recently took off all the grounds and sanded them down and made sure they were good. i have 14 volts at idle with the new alternator and i used to only get about 12.5 or so, but everytime my bass hits my lights dim badly and then my radar says low voltage, then some times itll say hi voltage for a minute and go up to like 14.3, and then go back to low again, when i lower it it goes back to 14. I first thought it was the ground on the small amp, but i disconnected the remote and only ran the subs and it still did it, i thought my ground for the sub amp was pretty good and i dont know what else it could be, where are the best places to make grounds in a civic coupe, what could be causing my system to do this? any help would be awesome i have been trying to chase it down for a while and im stumped
