I know everybody is using the NK BKR7E-11 copper but you have to change them often. Why dont people use the iridiums? its seem like you save time and money just going with the iridiums. Any input?

A good conductor is one that has low resistance. A good insulator has a very high resistance. At commonly encountered temperatures, silver is the best conductor and copper is the second best. Electric wires are usually made of copper, which is less expensive than silver.

Your right but remember the properties of silver get worse if heat is applied. So it’s not a good candidate for spark plugs. When looking into plug you need to factor in the environment that it’s in. Hot, pressure, Flames. This is why iridium and platinum are good choices not only are they superior in break down but there better conductors than even silver at the temp that there in. I use ngk iridium’s myself with a 75shot wet. It’s been 5 months now and I sold my nos to go turbo I’ve been thru about 10 bottles and still they perform well. My choice is ngk iridium’s for life but plain Jane coppers will do fine.

 

i was just correcting z6 on his statement.... yea silver would suck *** with plugs....i like copper myself...at the price of iridiums you can change your coopers out more often.... even though iridiums last longer there nothing better than a fresh set of plugs...
