Toronto R owners...I need your help!!!
K, let me start by saying I tried a search but I couldn't find anything so don't flame on me for asking this...
Unfortunately, I don't have a winter beater to drive for the next four months and I have to drive my R. Now I know that I can't drive in the winter on the tires that came with the car (I just got it in August), so I need to know where the best place in the GTA is to get a decent set of winter tires and rims (rims don't need to be anything fancy, in fact, just plain steel ones will do) where I'm not going to pay through my ***!!!! Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance.
P.S. It's supposed to snow (FU@K!!!) tomorrow, so I need to get on this.

It has been my experience that tire costs are fairly constant wherever you go. I say go to the place you trust the most, even the dealership. You might pay a little more at the dealership but I don't think the difference would classify as rape.
Regards,
Regards,
Talk to Johnnyboy (look him up) he's got a set of cheap *** (Ghetto Racing) winter wheels for sale.
And if i get my beater in place then i'll offer you my winter tires.
IM or e-mail me if your interested.

I am using the Ghetto rims again this winter...No idea why. I think I like the look now! LOL. There is a place in Milton called Cheap Thrills. You can get some really good deals there. I'll find their number. My buddy got some used rims and hubcaps and new snow tires for like $350.00 for his GSR. Bring CASH!

Wheel and Tire Zone off Eglington in Mississauga. They sponsor the local autocross events as well. Really knowledgeable, helpful, and good price.
The only other shop I am aware of is Wheels Direct in Scarberia off Kennedy and the 401.
