cars running rich, what do i do????

hey guys my cars running rich, it'll back fire when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. How do i adjust the air fuel mixture to fix this on my SOHC D15B VTEC??? Am i damaging the motor by driving like this??? and whats it mean when the cars running to rich?? is too much fuel? thanks for the help

no i don't have a VTEC ecu. i have the stock dx ecu rewired for 4 injectors and i have the vtec hooked to a switch that activates at full throttle.

i don;t know i had the motor installed at a shop. they do installs all day long. im sure there is a way to hook up 4 injectors. I dunno maybe i shud be replacing the ECU??? no that i have the vtec hooked up to a switch is it possible to get a ECU from a 90-91 civic si. would i be able to just plug it in??? or do i need to know how the guy at the shop has it wired right now before i do this??? thanks
