H22 swap problems
I've already searched for my problem and I can't find anything, so please bear with me. I just finished swapping an H22A into my 95 EX. Everything was pretty simple(I thought). I have it running, but it's very hesitant until it reaches about 3k rpm. I'm using the f22b1 injectors with the f22 ecu. Everything else is from the H22 except the map sensor. The thing is when I first started the engine, it idled fine with H22 injectors and f22 ecu but it would stutter alot after 4k rpm and it was slow to pick up to that rpm. So, I changed the injectors and now its extremely boggy until 3k rpm. It almost feels like it's not getting enough fuel for the amount of air it's letting in. I had to use the tps from my old throttle body because the h22's was broken. But, I adjusted it so its .56 volts at closed throttle and 4.4 v at wot. This seems right. I know most tps' are in this range so it should work. Back to the ecu, I tried using the h22 ecu with the f22 injectors and that definitely would not work, so I tried to go back with the h22 injectors, but that didn't work either. I checked the h22 injectors and they all read 2.6 Ohms, same as the f22, so I don't understand why the ecu doesn't provide the same pulse to those injectors. I'm very stumped. Does the h22 tps have a different volatage range? Also, does it matter if the ecu is for an automatic or manual? I didn't think so but maybe it does. Suggestions needed badly. Thanks
your problem is that you can't run an f22 ecu with an h22...get your self a p13 ecu for whatever kind of transmission you have (yes it matters as fuel maps are slightly different)...also, you need to be using h22 injectors...the accord injectors don't supply enough fuel, or when they do they are running at about 85-90% duty cycle...you need to understand that the f22 and h22 are extremely different motors and run on different fuel maps and ignition maps...most likely, the ignition timing on the f22 ecu doesn't advance itself enough until 3k rpms...also, you should be running into a 6700 rpm redline as well, right? again, change the ecu...
I checked the number on the ecu and its for a 92-95 2.2 vtec manual, so that's right. But it won't work with my h22, unless it's defective? Who could I send it to have it tested. Yesterday I advanced the timing a little and now it feels a lot better though still not how it's supposed to. I'm gonna try switching to h22 injectors and ecu again with the timing advanced.
2.2 VTEC accord ECU is totally different than 2.2 VTEC prelude ECU. For one the prelude is dohc. But besides that the a/f maps are totally different.
You need a P13 ECU Period! I mean you could do chipped P72 blah blah blah. But really you need the P13. That is the H22 ECU.

technically it should run ok with the wrong ecu, just no vtec and in this case (h22) no iab.... it s/b totally driveable....
egr pins are swapped???

yeah, i've been saying all along that i have an h22 ecu, but it wasn't working. this morning since i advanced the timing, i switched the injectors again and it ran ok, so i switched the ecu and it ran pretty good, but no vtec. i still have to add the wire for the knock sensor. i think it'll be alright after i add the ks. as for the iab, i'm not gonna hook it up because it doesn't make a difference if you use the second runners or not. and yeah, i didn swap the egr pin with the o2 so the only code i got was for the ks. thanks for your help guys. i'll let you know what happens

maybe it was a little confusing, but if you read carefully, i said that i tried every combination. that is, before i adjusted the timing. now it runs okay, but vtec doesn't work. only code is the ks.
Wow, a lot of misinfo in this thread.

No, his car will run fine with F-series ecu. Even with the other injectors. At higher RPMs it will lean out, but at like 5k+.

You cant change the duty cycle of a injector(s) WOT maps. It will ran rich or lean, but the duty cycle will stay the same (stock ECU).

Hold and peak or sat. will work almost the same, that is not his problem (most likely)

Sounds like your timing (cam or igntion) is off or wore (wires or what not)
