axle.....broken! :)
so i have my sohc zc vtec, and im bouncing off the revlimiter in first, throw it into second, and hear a "pop", car runs fine, gears change, clutch works, speedometer works, i can do 120mph with the clutch engaged in 5th stopped.
edit: "runs fine as in" motor revs, car just wont move.
either the axle snapped or thats the only thing i can think of.
question, are there any "performance" axles for a cable crx si transmission?
any that are "worth" buying, like if they break, theres a lifetime warrantee or something? anyone else break axles with their car?
this sucks

well raxles should make em for our cars. but honestly id get a lifetime warrenty one from autozone which i have and leave it at that, unless of course your making like 250hp...
not 250hp....i dont think i'd hit that....but i am adding a stage3 bullfrog cam to my motor, which should be good for a few more ponies.....
so "we" can agree that it IS a broken axle? cause my first thought was i either shattered the transmission or the clutch, but it still worked, the car just wouldnt move lol...

Can't say for sure untill you look. It's quite easy to remove those axles! Take off the wheel assembly bolts( that huge bronze colored bolt in the center of the rotor). That takes like a 1 1/4 socket and has like 138 foot pounds of tq. on it. Then undo your lowerball joint, and then that bolt that holds your strut to the control arm I believe. Then with a flat head screw driver, pop the shaft out of the trans diff., takes like 10-20min a side. Oh yeah, make sure you drain your trans gear lube before removing the shafts!!!
