Alpine: I-Personalize
Anyone know how to use this, i'm a noob at audio and i have a Alpine headunit that has the feature. Anyone know how to adjust it for the best sounds, and can anyone give a description to what Time correction , Crossover control, and Parametric Eq does? i'm so confused as to what settings to put, i don't want to **** up the settings even worse
If you dont have a operating manual , pay an Alpine installer [ or some one who knowes how] to do it.
belive me this is good advice.

ps If you can get someone to show you how it works as they are setting it up better yet

I-personalize is the name for alpines online configuration applet that creates an mp3 file that the headunit reads and adjusts the sound based upon the settings you selected on the site.
IMO, it is much easier to adjust while in the car since you can hear your changes instantly. Someone might be able to help you better if you post your hu model.
As the previous guy said, you will definately need the manual to accomplish this. You can probably figure out how to use ipersonalize on their website without a manual though if you have an understanding of audio already.

I believe the time correction feature is supposed to make the audio sound like you're in the middle of the car. Since you are close to the drivers door speakers, and farther from the let's say, passenger side rear speaker, you could adjust the HU so there will be a slight delay in the sound from the drivers door speakers (we're talking milliseconds here).
Does it work?? I can't really tell the difference, but just like most stuff, you'll feel better once you set and swear it sounds much better.
If you don't have your instruction manual, go to the Alpine website. They have a sight where you could plug in all the values and it will tell you what you have to dial into your HU. I still have trouble trying to figure out the EQ. I have a CDA-9813 BTW.

Installed one of the Alpines yesterday, and we do a little setting up[for free] with customer in car, to show them how the HU works,we do charge a min. of 1/2 hr @ $40 per hr to do setups,so most of them will try it themselfs,[pay me now pay we later]" Mr Dave " came back today and asked if I could check if he had done it right, he explaind that he had spent about 5 hr fiddling around ,1 hr before he pulled the manual out of the box, so I grab my test disc, and my monster blues disc and we jump into his GMC pu , plug in the test disc ,close my eyes, and sit back and listen, well **** it sounded pretty good,so out with the test disc and in with the monster blues disc, the sound was awsome, a good wide sound stage ,imaging was about 3 feet in front of truck and just above eye leval,eq adjustment was very good ,and xover points right on [ he had overlaped the high pass/low pass] and it worked perfect.
Now I though that was pretty good for a welder ,who said he new **** about car audio and sound, then he showed me he had also set it up for middle and pass. side, the pass.side was as good as the drivers side , and the middle he set up as a driver and pass. setup, now that stumped me , sliding back and forth on the seat all I could tell was that the soundstage lost some of its width and the imageing wasn't as clear, but still very good.
Not bad for a Alpine HU and amp running 2 10" MTX subs in MTXs GMC truck box and stock GMC comp.sp.up front and stock 4"by6" in the rear running off HU.
If a welder can do it you can to.
