I cant seem to find accurate info about the soch vtec ZC. all site seem to skip the fact that there was a ZC soch vtec producing 138hp. Why is this!! are there just idots or do they have no clue??

 

sohc vtec zc is very similar to d16z6 or d16y8. it didn't ever produce 138 hp though.

maybe you cant find info cause you have it SOCH instead of SOHC...

and it was more like 128 hp not 138...

 

soch=mistype . any ways this motor is a hard one to track down.

You know i have been looking (and not to seriously at that)..and i found more SOHC ZCs than the DOHC ZCs and i want a DOHC. So if you look around you can find one with no problem

that not a zc are u referring to the d15b, but what u can do to get a sohc zc and put a d15b head on it but don't know how much u will increase, they say u gain a decent amount, if that what u mean there is no such thing as zc vtec unless you do a head swap your self!

According to http://asia.vtec.net/specs/egcivic/ the ZC SOHC was 130ps and available only in auto or 4wd EG sedans.

Dunno, how it differs from the export D16 SOHC VTECs though.

 

my friend just bought an engine for his 91 civic dx, stock same thing from asap motors. on his block it says zc and nothing else, could it be a zc dohc block and a d15 head? who knows sorry for my english if there are any mistakes professors.

so what you found the integra engine, woohoo yeah for you. usually it would be attached to the slushhbox AWD in the sedan

There are many ZC motors out there.
SOHC non-vtec , similar to a d16a6@108hp
SOHC non-vtec, 1.5L dual carbs@???
SOHC vtec, similar to a d16z6 @125hp
DOHC non-vtec, brown top similar to d16a1 (88-89 integra)@120hp
DOHC non-vtec, black top direct bolt in to ED crx,ED civic @130hp

wrong I had a zc sohc vtec

same as d16z6 except it says zc not d16z6 and it has the holes threaded for the halfshaft.

 

There were ZC motors in the EG and DC chasis as well

Like I said the 1.6 SOHC ZC vtec was from the AWD integra's and civics and a few other models straight with 140 ps or 138 hp. older models made 10 less
