Default Common Problems With a CRX

I'm getting ready to buy a car and thought that a CRX would be a good buy. What im wondering is what are some common problems with CRX's?

mainly rust. If the car was taken care of mechanically this is all you really need to look for as a big problem

Main relay and ignitor are about it.

Rust isn't per-say a honda problem its a problem with all cars after so many years.

That's a really good question to ask before looking into a car. I wish I had taken the time to learn about CRXs so I would have known what I was getting into. A few of the design defects that a lot of our cars have....

leaky sunroof
cracked climate control unit
tranny noise
seatbelts don't retract
I'm sure there's more.....

A lot of CRXs have rust and even more have Salvaged titles. If you can find one that has been adult owned and maintained, then no matter what mileage or price it's a good car.

Yeah and if someone says they did all the stuff keeping up with it, ask for proof. I got ripped off by some guy. But i haven't had too many problems.

Rear trailing arm bushings and front suspension bushings prolly need to be replaced. These cars are atleast 13 or 14 years old...

as you can see its mainly stupid stuff that can be fixed fairly easily...notice how no one said any engine/tranny problems...thats cause honda knows their **** when they made these cars...

what i would look for are records...and make sure the owner changed the timing belt/waterpump and did maintance, or you are going to have a bunch of stuff you are going to have to do to get it to 100%...

but none-the-less i will always say the crx IS the best car for the money and the best all-around car that honda has made, hands down...

dont turn away from a nice crx if the interior rattles, all of them do that. i remember brand new crx's doing that.

also make sure you take a peek at the front wheels and how they are situated in the wheel well. most have major caster problems. which means something is fucked in the suspension. i looked at 5 crx's and 3 of em had that.

the seats fade easily and tear, lots of leaks which leads to stank carpet
