Default Dpfi to Mpfi wireing confusion

Ok i ahve a 1991 civic hatch and i swapped a 92 D16Z6 into it and now all i need to do is the wireing. Now i was wondering if i was able to use the Si harness, because thats all i have and i have been told that it is the easier way to go.. Now if anyone has a better eaiser way to do it i would like to see it, because it would help me greatly with getting this finished...I also have to do the DPFI to MPfi conversion to it...

thank
adam

it is easier to use the dx harness and pin the ecu. but here is a link on the woring from hybrid garage.

it is a dx to zc, but should help you. i use this on every swap i do.

I second that...use your DX harness and add a few wires.

I disagree with the two guys above. You shouldn't use the DX harness, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO use the DX harness. The Si requires a TON of modding and repinning and cutting and crap to make it work. The only time I ever saw someone attempt to use the Si harness, it went completely haywire and he screwed some stuff up and ended up burning out his ignitor because he crossed some wires. Just mod the DX harness and it will run perfect. I've done a ton of them, and if you need help, hit me up on AIM (wiredspeedjosh) or MSN messenger (slowcivicboy@hotmail.com) and I'll give you the easy way to do it.

if you disagree with me then you should be using the si harness. unless i read it wrong. i know the si harness is next to impossible to use.

I was just messing around, I guess it does sound a little confusing. My point was that exactly. The Si harness is next to impossible to use, and it's easy to screw stuff up when you do try to use it, because it has wires that are the same colors as stuff in the Dx, but they do different things. IE, the ignitor wire in the Si is the same color as the cyl. position sensor wire in the dx (I think that's it... ). In any case, don't do it. Just get comfy with a printout of a set of instructions and start working on it. The first time I did it, it only took me about an hour, and now I can do it in like 30 min or less.

if using the si harness, expect your car to be one of those year long dpfi-mpfi projects.lol

add the wires to the dx engine harness.

otherwise if you hate the dx harness that much, change your whole car to an si harness tailight to headlight.

I found this neat little diagram on that site it makes the DPFi to MPFi doable by a 1st grader, thats IF and only IF you use your dx harness.
