Default Header and Cat not matching up..

im currently in the middle of a JDM GSR swap on my 98 Civic. i have the ex mani off the GSR and i recently purchased a cat off a 01 ITR. i tried a test fit of the cat on the ex manifold and the flange seems to be bigger, as in the bolts are too far apart to fit the cat appropriately. so my question is, is there a different in flange size between the 99 GSR (which mine is) ex mani and a 00/01 integra ex mani? or is it just my JDM header? keep in mind the ex mani collector size is 2.25 just like the USDM..

Youre right about the difference between a 99Gsr and the 00/01. The model years before 00 had a difference in the length of the manifold. About 4 inches I believe, maybe you can swap that gsr manifold with someone with an Ls

the flange on the cat is bigger, and you should have a donut gasket that the cat wedges against to make a tight seal with the use of those bolts with the springs. I dont know if thats what your talking abut, or are the actual holes the bolts go in off center from each other? My stock integra header, bolted up to the stock and aftermarket cat I have just fine hope that helps.

the difference in length though has nothing to do with his problem, I think. He is having a problem with the size of the flanges

FYI - My 94 LS header is longer then my room mates 94 GSR header. I bought a DC GSR header and had to have the b-pipe lengthend by about 4 inches. The cats are the same length, but the GSR has an O2 bung welded in, vs the LS where it's on the header.

so what this basically this comes down to... is... between ALL USDM 00 & 01 Integra's and pre-99 Integra's is there a difference in the distance in bolts? thats all.. so i guess maybe somebody could measure the length from the CENTER of the bolts on either their USDM ex mani. i just need one measurement from a 00/01 and 94-99. thanks in advance guys!

i think the only thing you can do is get another cat.

i had a simliar problem, when my straight pipe didnt fit up to my new set of dc sports headers, the old set was severely damaged due to bottoming out. meineke re-weleded my straight pipe to fit the new headers for about 50 bucks.
