Got my sedan running but theres a glitch
Ok so i bought a car 89 civic lx with a blown engine. the lady was drivin it daily and everythin worked. i pulled the d15b2 and looked for a new engine. i bought a d16a6 but it didnt come with the IM or the distributor so i used the dpfi manifold and dizzy. now i dropped it in and it started up after a lot of cranking, i think it was flooded.
the problem is that now my temp gauge acts like a voltmeter. hot means its usin a lot of volts. and when it pegs on the hot side the car stumbles and dies unless i keep pumpin the gas. when i turn on my headlights and ac at once the car will peg the coolant temp gauge and die. if i keep pumpin the gas i can keep it on. oh and theres a crack in the radiator. what should i look for and dont say wiring because i didnt do any. just took the harness off and put it back on.

Get a new radiator. When you are putting the radiator in, check your wiring (so what... I said it... sue me) and look for loose connections. There is no reason why it should be acting up like that. You might also want to pull the temp sensor off the D15 and put it on the D16. Maybe the D16 one is in bad condition and needs to be replaced.

Theres one on the valve cover too. And just replace the f'n radiator don't be ghetto you'll just end up ******* yourself over in the end (warped head..etc).
I JBed a radiator so I could drive it to go get a new one.
It lasted about 10 minutes and blew out. I had a big crack in the plastic end cap. They do offer an all metal radiator so if you can get one of those. PLatic caps SUCK.
