where can i find a Helms repair manual for my gen 2?
I was told in this forum that Helms repai manuals were the *****, so i started to look for one. ive had nothing but bad luck, even the more popular onlines bookstore sites dont even mention andthings about helms. I sayes Hayes alot, is that it? help me out please!!!!
You can order one from helminc. The price is as follows. $62 for a re-print manual, meaning it's not the original factory print. Instead copied pages placed into a plastic binder. Then $10 for handling. Then $15.00 for shipping. I was going to get one for my 93, the total was like $85.00. Oh, by the way....the only shipping that it offered me was next day and second day air. Then it shows that it's printed to order, so it'll be 7-10 days. But yet, it has you paying for 2nd day air. To me it's a joke.
I would look on ebay for a used one, unless you think $85 is a good price. I bought one of those cheap cd's for like a dollar which I think is nothing more than a helm manual on cd. I'm not sure if it's any good or not as I haven't recieved it yet, but I figured what the heck. Then I found two used helms, one for 15.00 and one for 9.99 and bought both of them.

haynes is alot shorter of a book. its information is basically useless and it never gives a picture for what you're trying to do. ex: for removing an engine: remove axles, remove exhaust, remove any suspension in the way, unplug all harness clips, pull mounts, lift engine.
thats basically the haynes explination of an engine removal for any vehicle fwd, rwd... whatever. and they show no pictures except the final product of two nerdy lookin dudes holdin an engine in the air. then if you go to places in the book on how to remove axles, it shows you how to take the axle apart, but not how to remove it. the only good thing about the haynes is it gives a great metric-standard conversion chart and it gives torque specs for every bolt (and if it doesn't say every exact bolt, a basic torque spec to use for that size bolt)
