Default PLease read!ZC vtec? is it worth it??please read

ok you all know i blew my z6 motor and ordered a y8. well the shop said that the company they get motors from are all out of y8s but they sent a ZC soch vtec instead.
Now my question is what numbers does this motor make (trq, hp) and is it even worth it?

I searched every where and this ZC soch vtec motor seems to be a ghost.
BTW my car is a 95 ex

i believe the SOHC ZC's are OBD-0. that should be fun converting to OBD-1

I thought ZCs were DOHC? I guess I was wrong, but what is the DOHC D series then?

no there is a sohc vtec motor... called a "zc"... its hard to search for, but somebody should chime in with pictures. essentially, its a d16z6 (obd 1).. only in japan land they call it a "zc"

dont worry, its fine, and a perfect replacement

did a little more asking around. most people told me the soch ZC vtec is basically a d16z6 with higher c/r and more aggrasive cam. that its obd1 and puts out 130hp.

Is this information correct? and if so then it should be better then the y8 right?

I believe it is rated for 138 horsepower. It has a more agressive cam than the Z6.

people, please also dont forget the motor in the civic vti, the jdm d15b.

so in japan, essentially... there is a 1.5vtec (d15b) and a 1.6vtec(zc).... both obd1..

both are fine replacements for either a d16z6 or d16y8 (in a obd1 chassis)

Not true again, the 92-95 JDM RTSi 4wd came with a OBD I DOHC ZC...

http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/Mod....html

All the SOHC vtecs I can find are D15Bs.

ZC soch vtec= jdm version of the d16z6. Just that the ZC has a more aggrassive cam and is rated at 130-138 hp.

HAS any one found out any more info on this "ZC" soch vtec motor. I searched the whole internet and cant find sh*t.

Ask "emerika" I believe he has one.

The SOHC VTEC ZC I believe is pretty much a D16Z6.

Cheack the EF forums, a lot of people with ef's (ED's) have gone with the vtec d-series motor. It does exist and is a popular swap for ed's.

man, quit flippin out here. just treat it as if it were a d16z6. that is all it is. just ignore the ZC engine code, honda used the ZC engine code over a wide variety of motors, its just a generic term.
