Default pm6/b16a/turbo edit problem (code 20)

ok i was running a pr3 on a b16a, and today i went to plug in my pm6 to see if the socket was soldered in right. I turned her over (no gas and i unpluged the wires so it wouldnt start) the ecu checked out, but i get code 20, Electrical load detector. To my knowledge b16a dont have eld, so how does everyone with a b16a get around this?

thanks in advace

the eletric load detector, does it work off the car body or is it a part of the motor (the b16a is lacking one off) basically if i plug back in the eld pin into my ecu will it get rid of this problem ?

the electrical load detector is in the underhood fuse panel. the only way to fix it is to get a new one.

I have heard that you can unplug it and get rid of the code but don't quote me on that. I have also heard that it runs off the electrical system, for example a loose ground.

P.S. Yes The Doors rock but they OWN Pink Floyd!

First off all i got to say is Echoes off Echoes is the greatest song, i would invest some time on downloading it, and beter yet its 18 minutes long realy great song.
I think my battery is kinda dead, or if i plug in the edl into the pm6 it would maybe fix this (i though the eld was part of the motor not the chassis)

well hopefully ill have an answer tommorrow

Is your b16 wired for vtec/knock/2nd o2? If so you removed the eld wire to put your 4 extra wires in. The pr3 dosent look for a eld, so when you put your pm6 in, it was looking for it. Ryan

yep.

you have a conflict in wiring between what your PM6 wants and your PR3.

PR3:
pin B19 = knock sensor
pin B5 = VTEC pressure switch

PM6:
pin B19 = ELD (located in your fusebox)
pin B5 = alternator

you can make a way to swap these connections when switching ECUs .. or, ive been told, you can just run the PM7 codebase which doesnt use the ELD system... BUT i dont think its anywhere near as up to date as PGMFI-NG30 .. so basically you need a way to swap the pins

are you using a RPM switch for VTEC when running the PM6?
