Default Clutch question...88->89

Ok...I think I have this figured out just wanted to run it by you guys to see if its correct. My girlfriend had an 89 si with an 88 ZC with an 88 tranny/clutch/flywheel on it. Recently, her 1st and reverse synchros went and we had an 89 Si tranny that was recently rebuilt lying around so we're going to put that in. Now, she went and bought an 89 crx clutch which is 200 mm 20 spline count, correct? And the 88 Flywheel is a 200mm 21 spline count. Now my understanding is that all 90+ flywheels with the exception of a few(del sol being one of them) are all 212mm 20 spline count...still with me? So if we got a 90+ even from say an EG or EK thats 212mm 20 spline it will work with a 90-91 clutch, yes? Or if she kept the 89 clutch and got a del sol flywheel which is 200 mm and i'm guessing a 20 spline count, that would work with an 89 clutch, correct?

clutch/flywheel/tranny just get all from the same year and you'll be good.

She needs it today though and we might not be able to get an 89. But I have some friends who have sohc swaps from EGs laying around so I can probably get an EG flywheel...would an EG flywheel bolt up and work with an 90-91 clutch kit since it should all be 212mm 20 spline?

All d-series trannies from 90-up have 20 splines.. you can use any 20 spline clutch with them.. The 88-89 flywheels are the same.. So if she has a clutch for a 89 civic/crx then you use your 88 flywheel and the 89 tranny so your good to go..

Unless this is just a general car for .A to .B, I would find a 90+ flywheel and get a 90+ clutch since its 212 instead of 200.. Before I got my race clutch I was running a 93 clutch with 93 flywheel with a 89 tranny.. Basically all 90+ parts will work with each other.. 88 trannies are the oddballs of the bunch..

One more thing I see in your post.. The spline count is on the tranny and has nothing to do with the flywheel..
