Jim,
PLEASE....Bore us to tears....post up some linkage.
Scott, who imagines that in something like an ITC car that straightaway must seem even longer than a mile....

Well, being the video guru that I am (not), it is all in Mini DV format. Maybe I can get some footage to John for conversion to a postable file.
Here is the track though, with the looongest straightaway ever:

It's 1.1 miles long. Street cars with good power to weight ratios have been over 170 there, while most of us hit the aero wall at 140 or so and simply stop accelerating.

Pack a snack, drinks, and even some light reading material for the trip down this straight.
The fun really begins just after the turn one kink. As we enter the braking zone there is a large bump (which interestingly is not noticable below 100mph or so) that sends the rear tires of stiffly sprung FWD cars off the ground by 4-8 inches. For ITA cars we brake immediately upon touchdown.
You'll probably have time to repack your cooler after crossing the bump in the Avacado.
Jeremy, I probably have some laying around as well. Give me a holler.

I've heard about the bump and seen it in some in-car videos. Does it run the full width of the track, or can you scoot around it off-line like the downhill bump into 3A at PR?
The bump is highly over-rated, unless you are at 140+. The only thing you want to make sure and do is wait until the car is settled before you brake for 2. There are many different little tricks that can be done in that area, maybe we can all take some bikes down there on the race weekend and check it out closer.
This is the video I've been watching to get a feel for the track.

He's on stock suspension and you can see the car move over the bump. Not sure how fast he's going, but it's nice to know it's overrated. I think my computer shuts off fuel at 125 mph.

Thats a decent video to get the idea of the layout. ITA cars run around 3.5-4.0 seconds a lap quicker.
John, you should be able to hustle around there about as quick as that R, at least in lap times.

If you are going to have a speed limiter problem, this is the place it will happen. Thanks for the reminder, I have a new ECU which is still stock.
The vid pretty much shows the track, but that line leaves a lot on the table.

Really doubtful - I'm fully extended now financially, and a couple of hours at PIR left me with a bruised tailbone - Driving to Spokane or Seattle would probably leave me pissing blood. Maybe next year when I can tow.

Rustic it is. A real throwback to the old days. There is almost no fencing at the track. You can take a long walk through the tall grass from the paddock to the back straight.
Sounds like you need one of those donut seats...

Nope. Not a dry race weekend for me yet this year. My wet streak has to be getting close to a end though. Pretty good odds of sunshine at Spokane. In fact, I'm trying to rig up a cooling duct to face the drivers seat.
You're going to Spokane aren't you James?

I drove spokane in the rain last year in a de event. Definately a very fun track. That t1 bump was very scary at 210kph in the wet. I loved the t1-t2 "strait".
No, I am skipping Spokane this year. My income forces me to make sacrifices and Spokane is it this year. Money saved on Spokane trip is going towards another out of state race, you know.
