91 hatch window
I had my passenger window broke out of my car and cant seem to find one anywhere other than brand new(from $150) I really dont have that kinda cash. I found a place in Joliet, Illinos that had one but they said that since my car was a canadian model that the window was different. is there any truth to this? or is the guy pulling my leg. any help is greatly appreciated. little more info 91 STD belts on the door.
i don't think it has anything to do with having tinted window or not..it the fact that since your car is a 91 then you need to get a CIVIC HB 90-91 window ONLY!
you can't use an 88-89(early 89') window caseu they are different. nor can you use any CRX window casue they have different angle at the top. this is how it goes....
88-89(early 89')
(late 89')89-91
same goes for crx in that manner. and this is not only refering to windows but to many other parts for a civic/crx in those indicating years.

Yes, it is true, you cannot use a Canadian 1991 Civic side window (front or rear) on a USDM 1991 Civic. In the US for the 1990 and 1991 model year, Honda used passive door-mounted seatbelts. The US was the ONLY place to do this. In Canada, the Civics for 90 and 91 had pillar-mounted seat belts just like 88 and 89. They also had cool wheels and DRLs, but that is another story. If you have door-mounted "passive" belts, characteristic of the 90-91 US Civics, you must get glass from a 90 or 91 USDM hatchback. No others will fit.
Well the guy from the shop said a Canadian model, but not necessarily a Canadian CAR. I think he's taking the manufacture plate a little too seriously.
You know? The car could have been built in Canada but it's still a USDM car. I know two of my EF's were 'Canadian', but being built for the USDM they had the passive seat belts.
That is, unless, he actually got a Canadian car across the border and that's what he drives.
