Default Is there such thing as an Adjustible Shift Linkage and a Welding one?

I was talking to a friend of mine that im going to do a swap for and he was wondering what shift linkage i was going to use. I asked him what he ment, and he said if it would be a welded one or an adjustible. Now i asked if he was talking about short shifter and he said no.

Has anyone ever hear of a adjustible, or welded on one? The only shift linkage i know is what bolts on to the tranny and the shifter.

on 92+ civic, never heard of it
on CRX with B series they had so-called adjustable ones.....more like adjustable **** linkage

It depends on the craftmanship of the person making the linkage.AZracemachine makes there own linkage from scratch for 88-91 civic. I have installed two and they have great fittment.

theres no reason for it to be adjustable.

to my knowledge they make em one size for swaps in EF's. most companies swithced from the adjustable style , to solid style.

If you make your own shift linkage from a 90-93 integra, its a good idea to make it adjustable so you dont have to be so exact on your measurements.

cut the shift linkage and remove about a 3-4" section. on the cut end of one half, weld a nut. on the cut end of the other half, weld on a piece of threaded bar stock. thread the linkage into the other half and you have an adjustable shift linkage.

So an adjustible linkage is for CRX/88-91 swaps huh? I should have posted this in the EF forum because also this swap is on a 91 hatch. Maybe if needed a mod could move to the right forum.

From the sounds of it an adjustible isnt as strong as a solid one right. So what shift linkage would be best for a B16 into the 91 hatch. Thanks.

Also does anyone have pics of an adjustible linkage?

I'll have a pic of the one from AZracemachines in a couple of days. The adjusable one can be hit and miss.I've made linkages for the b16 into a civic from TEG linkages and you only need to remove 1in. without the adjustablity.Works fine.Adjustables unlock sometimes.

Yeah victor a welded shift linkage just means that they cut it and welded it back together to make it fit the EF. I've broken and bent a couple of welded shift linkages before, I'd recommend that you look for one out of a jdm crx. Your in cali I'm sure you could locate one no problem.

Hector, and everyone else. Would you guys recommend an adjustible over a welded or welded over adjustible? And from the looks of it either way it goes ill need to customize to put the shift linkage in huh?
