For those running 12s & faster
What is your chassis and suspension setup? Also what size slicks? Trying to find out what I'm gonna need to handle such times and get the power to the ground. How are you loading your suspension? How do you keep the front end from raising up once you stiffen the rear to keep from squatting? Launch RPMs? I need lots of info and suggestions here. BTW, I'll be using an EF chassis(89 civic si hatch)
thanks,
Jared

For 12s that you are talking about there is not much needed in suspension wise.
Slicks sizing is depeding on hp. If you making over 400hp go with a 24.5-25 inch tall slick.
Make sure all your engine mounts at least have good uranthane inserts or solid mounts if you can get them. They will also help in traction
I would highly reccommed getting the z10eng traction bars in the front. Preload them with 3 turns.
Launching is going to depend on each track. Some tracks hook like a bitch and others only hook after the 330' mark. So it all depends. I would get a two step setup so you can come out of the hold with boost.
To add to b18bturbo:
I have the Skunk drag launch kit (400lbs. coils on front and 900lbs. on the rear) and adj. AGX's. This setup got rid of the squating during launching and going into second and so on.
However, the streetability with this suspension is harsh, but I don't mind it anymore. I got used to it.

How do the Z10s for the EF chassis compare to the stock units? And what kind of suspension am I gonna need if I'm shooting for deep 11s?
the z10 traction bars is 100 times better than the stock units on the older generation civics and crx. They come with a new cross member which is beefier and sturdier tha factory. Allows you torun a larger downpipe with out getting in the way of things. They are really excellent in setting your suspension to hook correctly.
Suspension wise i would go with good coilover suspension.

what about the drag launch kit from skunk that fix alpha mentioned? what coilovers do you recommend? and what shocks?
I've got stock struts in front, Tokiko's on hard in the rear with standard ground controls all around. I was able to squeak off a 2.09 60' on 205/40 16 Nitto 450's with a n/a b16a that went 14.80.
Not too shabby.
I'll ge thte tokiko's in the front ad probably a z10 setup in the front when I find my money tree, and get this turbo tuned.
I wanna go 11's on street tires!!!
j/p High 12's on drag radials would be nice, tho.

I use MT 24.5x8x13 Slicks mounted on Lenso VPD Wheels! As for suspension, I run GC Coilovers with 350 lb springs up front and 600 lb springs in the rear! I also run KYB AGX Struts all the way around! I have a 2 Step that is set at 6500 RPM's! It builds about 7 psi out of the hole! This is in a Nissan, but the same basic rules apply for any high hp FWD application!
I stand corrected. LOL! *I knew I shoulda checked the site before making myself look like an a$$*
So when's the Prelude version coming out? We have the worse torque steer problems!

how do you preload the bars or suspension before the launch? and how effective is the two stage rev limiter that is on the hondata? i'm thinking of upgrading to the two step.
My Civic runs consistent mid 11's, and for suspension, allz I have is Eibach Sportline springs, on stock Civic shocks. Yes, it's a ghetto setup, but seems to work for me. I have the solid Place Racing rear motor mount, and I run 22x8x13" slicks, pulling mid to high 1.7 60 foot times. Rides very soft on the street. No wheel hop.
