Need Help Throwing Code 9 Dont Know What To Do ???
I Just Finished my swap not long ago i put a D16a6 into a 88 civic 4dr DX i ran MPFI and now its throwing a Code 9 Please Help???
i think a code 9 is number one cylinder position... usually that means that the ignitor in the distributor is bad... its not reading TDC... does it cut out or run bad at all?
i threw code 9 not to long ago and made a post. well to sum the whole post up I got a new distributer and all my problems were solved.

i got an extra A6 distributer i will try it tommarrow morning thanxs for the info i will keep u guys posted
if you changed the timing belt before putting it back in then your cam alignment is OFF...if the crank wasnt at TDC then youd get a code 8 but check your cam timing and make sure the gear up arrow is pointing straight up at 12 oclock. if you pop the valve cover you will notice there isa little circular hole that you cna put a 5mm allen key or roll pin threw and it will hold the cam aligned straight.
good luck

where did you get the distributor from?
Code 9 is NOT the ignitor.
It's the distributor OBD1 or OBD0? What about the ECU?

is the crank timing on? how are you checking the timing? get an ohm meter, unplug the dist.and check resistance btween the white and red terminals in the connector. should be btween 350 and 550 ohms.
i just re checked my wiring all over again in case a wire had came apart or sum thing but all the wiring is ok i just finish doing a ohm test and its 430 ohms and the timing is dead on im checkin the timing wit a timing gun .... but now its still throwing the code 9 but now it throws it after the car is on for like 30 minutes befor it use to come on rite when u turn on the car
