'92 Accord: super-hot from vents and occasional rumbly engine
Hello,
We have an automatic '92 Accord that has recently developed two interesting problems:
1) Really hot air comes out of the vents even when the air-speed selector is set to "0". Turning it to "1" makes the car a sauna. This problem is always there, day or night, in all kinds of weather, and has nothing to do with the speed I am driving. As far as I can tell the air conditioning still works - it lowers the temperature a little bit, but it is still burning hot.
2) Once in a while (one out of a hundred starts) the engine makes a rumbling sound, as if one of the cylinders is failing or something. It sounds like the car is going to pull itself apart, but after five minutes of driving the sound fades away. Restarting doesn't fix the problem. The frequency of the rumbling corresponds to the engine speed - as the transmission shifts into higher and higher gears, the noise stays pretty much the same.
Any ideas about what's going on? We've driven with these problems for a month or two now, and our mileage is great, by the way...
Thanks!

to answer question 1, the cable that hooks up to the temp **** has probably come loose and it is stuck in hot, if u turn the **** from blue to red or red to blue, does it click or just turn freely??? if it clicks then its something else, if it turns freely the cable has come undone
