Default Adding power door locks from a Del Sol SI to a Del Sol S (HELP)

Hi. Any help would be MUCH appreciated:

I just got done installing the following in my 94 Del Sol:

* power door lock soleniods in both doors
* power door lock relay box in passengers side door
* door switch on drivers side
* 20amp fuse in the spot in the fuse box labeled (DOOR LOCKS).
* both left and right door wiring harnesses from the same car the rest of the PDL
stuff came from.

Power windows work fine as they did before, no door locks, no power mirrors. Any advice?

so all you did was just plug in the harness plug from the door to where it meet on the car? did you also do the (extra) wiring that is needed in order for the door lock to work?caseu even if you just plug it up doesn't mean that it lock wilk work as the power window did. the power window already had the wires setted up. also did you pop in the fuse for the door lock?
ther is 2 extra wires that you need to hook up. also need to run 2 wires from the pass. side ans connect it (color match) to the driver side. and then you find the location for those 2 wires in the harness plug behind the fuse box.

Yes I installed door harnesses, the soleniods, door switches, and relay box. Do you or does anyone else have any info on powering the stuff (tapping into the floor harness etc... whatever you need to do, wire color codes?, links?)

Thanx!

I could help you with the installation of the locks and electrical. Send me any questions you might have, its actually pretty easy. The part I am unable to do (due to a lack of Helm manual) is figure out what wires need to be energized in the floor harness to accomidate locks and mirrors.

Anyone got a Helm PDF for 92-95 civic / del sol?

Ok, so I've figured out everything I need to know as far as what needs to be wired to what etc... The PDLs work but one last question:

What is the easiest way to run wires from the door to the inside of door jam (for lack of a better way to explain the area where they're going). Is it honestly taking of the fenders to gain access? Aren't putting them on and getting realligned a pain in the @(*#&@!?

Please HELP! This crap sucks!

added power door locks to my sol and yes, you do have to take the fenders off. Even then, it is no walk in the park to do. Good luck.

Oh, its no big deal, I've got them working now. My main concern is taking the fenders off. Is it a pain in the butt to get them back on again and looking right? Is there some kinda allignment you need to do or is it as simple as just bolting them back on?

i didn't take my fenders off when i ran wires through the door jam. my car is a 92 hatch. i don't know if the sol is the same. unplug the rubber sealer that attaches to the door from the inside of the door and then unplug the other side (the side that attaches to the car) from up under the glove compartment. take your glove comparment off to do this. the wires will be looser between the car and door and you'll have enough slack to sneak in your new wires through. that should work.

hope this helps

I think maybe the Sol's are configured a bit differently. The hole that the wires come out of on the car side are kinda far back behind the fender ( Ah well...

I took my fenders off, drilled holes for the wires in the door and the car, siliconed the holes, ran wire, loomed and ziptied everything. Good luck!

Did you ever do a write up? Any pictures? I would liek to do this in the near future.

Did all SI models come with power door locks or only 96-97?

Thanks

sorry to bring back, but it's the only thread i found from a search.
