B18c into 98 HX
Hey guys I posted this over on hondaswap.com but it doesn't look like its as busy as this board is. Anyway, I have a 98 Civic HX and plan on swapping in a B18C5 ITR engine. Went to a shop near me and they said they could swap it in for $5800 (includes engine, parts labor). They also discount the installation of consumable parts (clutch, water pump, timing belt, etc) Does that sound that like a good price? How hard would this be to do myself? I have some friends that have done swaps on other cars and access to a lift. If I can save some money and find a good price on a turbo kit then I would like to go forced induction. If not I guess i will have to go N/A. If you think I would be better off with a different swap please let me know. Thanks!

Itr's are pretty expensive. If you have the money and u trust the people then i say let them put it together and tune it. If not and u have access to alternate means of putting it in then godspeed. good luck
well dude the ITR engine is really expensive and i think is not worth it!!
just get a gsr with lsd and drop a turbo kit and u woulg be fine!!
$2500 to $3300 for the gsr engine + $3000 for the turbo = $6000 and trsut me u would be hella faster!!!

If you can yes. I don't really like GSR trannys...unless boosted.
I would just get the full ITR swap.

Thanks HXMan. Im about 90% certain I am going to do the full ITR swap and then drive it stock (except for the usual i/h/e) until I can accumulate money for a turbo.
