Okay many of us want a fast accord but...
...130 hp power plant there isn't much we can do, for us with '97 LX's that is. I'm not going to ask what could add more power but what can make my top speed higher. It's rated at what, 135 mph. tops. If I am wrong someone please correct me. But is there anyway to make it faster than that.
Basically.
What can I do?
How much does it cost?
Where can I get what I need?

Well, it really all depends on what you are planning to get out of the car. An Accord was never meant to be a dragster. They are simply too underpowered and too heavy. I mean you can make it into one, but it will take some serious cash- you will need an H22, a turbo, etc. etc.
With the Lx engine still in the car, you can make the 5th gen into a very competent track car with some very simple handling and braking upgrades. You were blessed with the great-from-the-factory handling double wishbone suspension that Honda is oh so famous for. You can get some quality springs and shocks, or for a more sophisticated set up, you could get a set of quality coilovers. This way, everything will be adjustable. Tokiko and Koni make good shocks, Eibach makes a good spring, and the Progress Group and Groundcontrol both make a decent set of coilovers. You will also need some antisway bars both front and rear. Then, you will need to set it all up- fine tuning if you will.
For the breaks there are many options that are there to help you out. You could get some larger diameter rotors and high performance pads, or you could stick with what Honda gave you. If you do this, I would recommend some EBC "green stuff" or "yellow stuff" brake pads. The green stuff is more for the street/light track use, and the yellow is more for the track than street, but they are streetable.
For the engine, a good intake, header, and exhaust will help as well as some pullies. Remember, you don't have to have gobs of horses at the track- it's really more about driver skill and the way your car is set up.

if you want better braking put high temperature fluid in your car
Ha, Ha, you're right. None. I think they all look funny as hell, although I do think it's cool that they can get a Civic into the 9's.
Well...I know the Accord is not a dragster, I found that out going up against a mother in an SUV full of kids. What I am thinking about is top speed. Turbo increases my acceleration but in the end will all I'll be able to do is to accelerate to 130 m.p.h. faster? Is there a way to go beyond that? The accord doesn't have to run 9's but it would be nice to have something that can reach 150 m.p.h.

i hope you plan on knowing how to drive at 150 mph and having the car setup for it
where do you plan on obtaining this kind of speed? need a long as straightaway for that

First of all let me apologize, I realize I sound very retarded with the whole "I wanna fast fast car" attitude. I DO know where there are some straight aways like that but I'm thinking right now in the "It'd be cool to have a fast Accord" (is It'd even a word?), wait that sounds retarded. Okay let me try again.
I'm wondering if it is possible to do this. I'm not in the mood to trash a perfectly good car against a tree or longhorn

sounds like you need to attend a track event, I only got up to 115mph tops but it felt like I was flying
speed is relative to skill, the more you learn how to drive the car the faster you will drive (not necessarily a good thing on the public streets)
I guess what I am getting at is I don't see the benifit in having your car (an accord) go 150 mph in a straight line, unless you are building an Accord dragster where it is not doing 150 mph, but how fast it takes you to get to 150 mph.
If you want to experience that kind of speed you are going to have to drop some money into the car in my opinion. No other way except for maybe driving straight down the side of a mountain.
My opinion is make sure the car can be safe at that type of speed first. Then look into turbo's and other engine components to help speed.
have you ever been in a car when it was doing 150 mph?

Yeah I would definitely have to agree w/ what everyone else is saying. It is extremely hard to handle a FWD car that has enough torque/HP to get to 150MPH down a track. That would be so hard, anyways, find out how serious you want to get about making your accord fast, and if you really want to get serious, sell it and get a lighter car that you can make go just as fast w/ less mods/money. Having a turbo on your car would be fun, but keep in mind it will still cost some money, and realize that 150 w/ a turbo kit just isn't going to happen on our cars.
That's what I mean, unless he wants to strip the bitch down to run track only then he needs to find out how serious he is about getting it that fast.
get a h22 swap wih NOS. thats what i have right now, and i top out a bit past 150. my guages only go to 140, and it is way past that. i can get to 150 no problem without nos, thats strictly for 1/4. my car is super modded, but it can hang with a lots of others out there. it is great for 1/4 and top end highway racing.

Cause an H22 and NOS is anything but super

I'm using a custom turbo kit. It's going to consist of the following: Equal length tubular manifold, Tial wastegate, liquid to air intercooler and a small turbo just to get acustomed with the chassis set up and then upgrading to a T68 turbo from Precision Turbo.
ya but a civic thats in the 9's isn't a civic anymore... its just a civic fram reinforced and a fibreglass shell that resembles a civic on top
jdm h22 with 5 speed lsd tranny, act street clutch with extreme pressure plate, fidanza lightened flywheel, 9lbs, jdm 4-1 header, greddy sp catback exhaust, aem short ram, msd 6al ignition, str comp fuel rail, aem fpr, zex nos kit with 75 shot, dc front strut, and rear sway bars, reprog. ecu, no rev and speed limiter, and rev indiglos that add 10 hp when i turn on my lights. lol
here is an old shot of my motor before i added the fuel rail, fpr, and nos kit
