OBDO-OBD1 Map Sensor, and TPS problem
Hey guys i finally have my car on the road running, with only 26 miles on it the engine surges reving from 1200 to 2000. So i disconnect the tps sensor and the surge goes away, so is it that i have a bad tps,but woldn't it throw a code for bad tps? also i'm using my 91 crx si MAP SENSOR which is located on the firewall instead of the MAP SENSOR on top of the throttle body, is this possible or is their a difference between obdo and obd1?
Set up is OBD1 with P28/D16Z6 with Zc pistons

It may or may not be your TPS sensor. You might have to readjust it. Most likely you're having a vaccum leak, check for that. It really doesn't matter what type of MAP sensor (OBD0 or OBD1) you have as long as your firewall mounted MAP sensor has a vaccum hook up to it.
i checked and it does have a vaccum hooked up to it, so what can be the problem if i hook up the tps it will surge if i don't hook it up it stops surging any clue?
the same surging idle happened to my civic when i put the z6 motor into it and ran obdI - you just need to reset the idle and the car should be alright.
there are several steps to do this:
1. car must be at normal operating temp - so drive it a little bit.
2. leave car running, unplug the idle air control valve
3. using a screw driver, adjust the idle to where you want it - the big plug thing in the top center of the throttle body that can be turned with the flat head screw driver
4. when idle is where you want it, shut off the car, plug the iacv back in, pull the hazard fuse for at least ten seconds to reset the ecu
5. start the car back up and the surging should be gone.
every once in a great while my car will surge again for a couple minutes, but that seemed to stop it from doing that all the time. give that a try and see what happens.

even though you are using the map sensor on the firewall is the obd1 sensor still on the throttle body w/ no wires going to it? could have a vac leak there if the MAP sensor is NOT on the TB still.
