Not recommendable, but it should be fine.

i wouldn't do it... we've tested the 1000/1 on a 13w6v2 and even with that kind of power.... man... that 13w6v2 is just a monster...

the larger the sub -> the more control it needs... so using an underpowered amp does noet only affect it at loud volume's, it simply doesn't have the capacity to control the sub!

Yeah, you need way more power for that. at least 500 RMS

So will it hurt the amp or what or will the cub just not be fully powered?

not exactly true. You must define what "control" is though. If control as in performing in a linear operating fashion, then the larger sub would have more of that "control" at any given volume.

Not to mention, with the same amount of power going to a 10w6 or a 15w6, the 15" will be louder even if both subs were to be getting 100w a piece.

the amp won't fry just because the sub has a higher thermal rating. Technically, the 15w6 is able to handle more than 250w, but that doesn't mean it won't perform well. There is almost no such thing as "not fully powered" because subs can reach their full potential with less power than people think. Example: the IDMAX is rated at 1000w RMS. All over other forums, people consider 500w to be underpowering that sub. Put that monster in an IB install (or a damn large sealed box) and you will get full potential out of that sub with only about 350w or so.

Box will determine how much potential you have.

Alright as long as it will hit pretty loud and not sound too shitty I will be happy. Thanks for all the help.
